Biochemistry - About the Department
The Department of Biochemistry of Vivekanandha Arts and Science College for Women, Veerachipalayam, Sankari, was established in the year 2017. The Department is functioning efficiently with well-equipped instruments such as UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, Medical Microscope, Hemoglobinometer, Digital Colorimeter, High speed centrifuge, Hemometer, Magnetic stirrer, heating mantle, Water bath, Digital pH Meter and other basic instruments for biochemical aspects. With a view to develop the extracurricular activities of the students the Department has started a science club in the name of father of Biochemistry “Neuberg club” to show case the talents of the students by conducting various activities.

Mission
- To provide high-quality education and training in biochemistry to women students at various levels, including Undergraduate, Postgraduate levels, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to pursue successful careers in academia, industry, or other relevant sectors.
- To engage in collaborations and partnerships with industry, government agencies, and other academic institutions to promote interdisciplinary research and foster innovation in biochemistry
- To disseminate scientific knowledge through publications, conferences, and outreach activities, to contribute to the scientific community and society at large
